The IRIS™ Infrared Imaging System brings powerful enhanced vision technology to the Bell 206 and 407. IRIS enables pilots to see obstacles ahead of the aircraft that may not be visible due to poor conditions or darkness, providing an added layer of safety, especially during low-level operations. The camera uses unique sensor technology to provide a crisp infrared image with a level of fidelity comparable to more expensive units. Unlike other infrared sensors, L-3's sensor allows the system to provide a stable, continuous image regardless of abrupt maneuvers or turns into direct sunlight.
